Beach Holidays in Africa

The African continent has some beautiful coastline - the fabulous tropical beaches of the Indian Ocean and its islands are ideal for pre or post tour safari or relaxation in its own right. Mauritius, the Seychelles and Mozambique are renowned for their sophisticated resorts and are perfect for honeymoons and dedicated beach holidays.
Africa’s exotic palm fringed beaches, often undeveloped, are among the finest in the world and offer a diverse range of accommodation. From the bare foot escapism in a beach hideaway such as Benguerra Lodge in Mozambique to luxury five star options such as North Island in the Seychelles.

Lake Malawi's beautiful beaches

Africa’s tropical coast has an incredible variety of marine life. The seemingly endless tropical reefs of Zanzibar and Mozambique offer some of the worlds finest diving and snorkeling. One of the best and most popular dive sites is the reef off Zanzibar’s Mnemba Island. To escape the crowds and explore pristine reefs head for Mozambique’s Bazaruto and the Quirimbas archipelago.

South Africa has its share of fine beaches too. Whilst the beaches of the Cape are not so tropical they offer superb cage-diving with great white sharks, one of the great wildlife experiences. Kwa Zulu Natal’s Maputuland Coast, has some of the continents most unspoilt wilderness beaches, Thonga Beach Lodge nestled in beautiful coastal dunes is a great place to relax after a safari.

For a truly unique experience we highly recommend the freshwater beaches of land locked Lake Malawi. The deep, crystal waters of Africa’s third largest lake offer excellent snorkeling and stunning beach hideaways such as Kaya Mawa Lodge. Or, if you looking for something unusual consider Tanzania’s Saadani National Park, where you can walk from the palm fringed beach into the bush.
