Day 1 - Flight
Depart for your flight to Johannesburg (excluded).
Day’s 2 to 4 - Ntwala Island
Arrive Johannesburg and transfer to your flight to Livingstone in Zambia. Once you
have cleared customs you will be met and transferred for an amazing scenic adventure
by road, boat, road and boat through 3 countries (Zambia, Botswana and Namibia)
- taking approximately an hour and a half to Ntwala Island. All the while you will
be hosted and assisted through the immigration facilities. This is a fascinating
opportunity to experience closely the marvel of the rivers, geographical mysteries
and cultural heritage of this fascinating area. Arrival at Impalila Island Lodge
is by boat where you will spend two nights on this pristine island. Impalila Island
Lodge offers a variety of activities; a private boat cruise down the Chobe river
to watch African wildlife, a river cruise up the Zambezi River, walks on the Islands,
a cultural village visit, fishing or simply relaxing at a magic setting. Chobe National
Park contains the world's largest concentration of elephants and offers the world's
best game viewing by boat. A gentle cruise down the Chobe River is truly a highlight,
and the best way to view both the elephants and a host of other game coming down
to drink from the river's edge.
Day’s 4 to 6 - Caprivi
After breakfast and your morning activity you will be transferred by boat and vehicle
to Impalila immigration and then onward to Impalila landing strip for a 60 minute
light aircraft transfer to Susuwe Island Lodge. Susuwe Island Lodge offers visitors
the opportunity to experience closely a wild and untouched island of Africa. Situated
in north-eastern Namibia, our island is in the remote Kwando River - a permanent
water source which nourishes delicate ecosystems and sustains varied game and birdlife.
Relaxation, privacy and comfort are paramount here. Susuwe Island Lodge is built
to incorporate the riverine forest - the main complex has lofty canopy viewing decks
overlooking endless savannahs, glistening lily-studded wetlands and ancient Kalahari
woodlands, as well as a firepit, spacious lounge and dining areas, curio shop and
small reference library. At Susuwe game drives in open 4 x 4 vehicles in the Bwabwata
National Park. Game sightings in this cradle of rivers could include vast herds
of roaming elephant and buffalo, lion, hippo, leopard, sable, roan, lechwe and puku
for example. Night drives at Susuwe offer an even closer insight into the intrigue
of the African bush.
Day 6 to 8 - Okavango Delta
After breakfast and your morning activity you will be transferred by boat and vehicle
to Susuwe landing strip for onward transfer to Kwando Lebala Camp in the Linyanti
– en route being guided through immigration formalities to exit Namibia and enter
Botswana. No trip to Botswana is complete without a visit to the Okavango Delta,
the shimmering and unique watery jewel in the middle of the northern Kalahari Desert.
The Kwando concession encompasses a wide diversity of habitats, ranging from the
clear Delta waters with reed-lined lagoons and channels, to open grasslands, mopane
woodlands and palm-fringed islands. Lebala Camp is situated on the edge of the permanent
waters of the world renowned Okavango Delta and shares a common boundary with Moremi
Game Reserve. Due to the unique location of the Camp, Lebala is able to offer walks
and game drives all year round. In addition, Kwara is in a 430,000 acre private
concession enabling the game drives to operate both off road and at night. The ability
to operate off road and at night gives guests the opportunity to observe many of
the interesting nocturnal mammal species. These include leopard, lion, wild dog,
hyena and smaller predators
Day 8 to 9 - Johannesburg
After a relaxing morning with more game activities you will be transferred to the
local airstrip for your short light aircraft flight to Maun Airport. From here you
will fly to Johannesburg where you will overnight at the Intercontinental Airport
Sun Hotel. The hotel is a short shuttle bus from the international terminal at OR
Tambo International Airport, Johannesburg so is conveniently situated for your connection
to the Mozambique the following day.
Days 9 to 14 - Benguerra Island
Spend the morning at your leisure in your hotel from where you will check in again
for your onward flight with Pelican Air to Vilanculos in Mozambique. On arrival
you will clear customs and then transfer by light aircraft to Benguerra Island and
the fantastic Benguerra Lodge. Spend the next 7 nights involved in one of the many
activities on offer at the lodge from Dhow cruises, fishing, diving and snorkelling,
island walks, sea kayaking and many more.
Day 14 - Flight Home
Return to Vilanculos for your flight to Johannesburg where you will connect on for
your international flight back home (excluded).
