Trip Itinerary

Day 1

On arrival in Maun, you will be met by a Mahlatini representative who will assist you to your light aircraft transfer to Zibaliania in the Selinda Reserve for your 3 night stay. Situated in the 135 000-hectare (1 350 square km) Selinda Reserve, Zibalianja Camp is located near the Zibalianja Lagoon - the lagoon that is the source of the Savuti Channel. Built in and around a palm island, surrounded by wonderful open savannah.

Days 2-3

Two full days to explore the Selinda Reserve. Activities include game drives, in the early morning, afternoon and at night, allowing sightings of both day and night-time wildlife. Short nature walks with an experienced guide are available as well. Siesta time is best spent in the sunken hide at the edge of the waterhole, watching the wide variety of plains game and predators that arrive to drink. Wildlife includes elephant, zebra, giraffe, cheetah, wild dog, lion and an amazing amount of birdlife.

Days 4-5

The Selinda Walking Trail, a superb two-day walk between Tshwene and Mokoba Trails Camps in the Selinda Concession.

Day 6

Light aircraft transfer from Selinda to the Okavango Delta for a 3 night stay at Kwara Camp.

Kwara is located in the remote northern part of the stunning Okavango Delta within the private Kwara concession. The camp fronts onto a huge floodplain, adjacent to the permanent water of the Delta and is backed by extensive bush. It is a magnificent wilderness area in excess of 1,700 square kilometres, bordering the Moremi Reserve.

Days 7-8

Two full days to explore the Okavango Delta, the area offers a diverse wildlife experience all year-round, but the focus is definitely on the water either gliding along in the special silence of a mokoro dug through crystal-clear waters or visiting the famous Godikwe lagoon, where you can stand on a boat literally eye to eye with thousands of herons, storks and other nesting birds.

Day 9

Transfer by light aircraft from the Okavango Delta to the Makgadikgadi Pans for a 3 night stay at San Camp. The Pans of Makgadikgadi were once the centre of a great lake that has now been dry for more than two thousand years. Today it is thought to be the largest saltpan in the world. Makgadikgadi consists of two large saltpans, Sowa and Ntwetwe, and a number of smaller pans.

Days 10-11

2 days of activities focusing on the Makgadikgadi Pans, Bushmen, quad biking, archaeology and history.

Day 12

Light aircraft transfer to Maun to connect with scheduled service to Johannesburg for international flight connections.
