6 Day 'Big Five' Kenya Safari Itinerary
This well paced itinerary will enable you to see the Big 5, leopard, lion, buffalo, rhino and elephant in two of Kenya’s most popular reserves. The animals in these reserves are well used to vehicles so it’s a great trip for a first safari and for photographers. There is a huge selection of camps and lodges in these parks for all tastes and budgets.
Day 1
On arrival at Nairobi’s Jomo Kenyatta Airport you will be met by your drive/guide. It’s a 10 minute drive to our office for your tour briefing and coffee before driving to Lake Nakuru National Park (155 km – 2-3 hours).
Accommodation: Overnight Lake Nakuru Lodge
Day 2
Early morning game drive in Lake Nakuru National Park en route to the Masai Mara Game Reserve. Afternoon game drive in the Mara.
Accommodation: Overnight Mara Serena or in a luxury tented camp.
Day 3-4
Early morning optional balloon safari followed by a full days game viewing in the Mara
Accommodation: Overnight Mara Serena or in a luxury tented camp.
Day 5
After a final morning game drive transfer to Nairobi by road or light aircraft.
Accommodation: Transfer to the House of Waine Guest House.
Day 6
Transfer to Jomo Kenyatta airport for flights to the Kenyan coast. Or, enjoy a full days city tour, visit a craft market before transferring to the airport for international flight connections.
