Tsavo Experience Itinerary
Tsavo is a just short drive from the Kenyan Coast and this trip is ideal for those wanting a taste of safari without committing to a longer trip. The game here is not as prolific as in Kenya’s more famous wildlife areas but Tsavo will give you a real experience of the peace and tranquillity of the African bush.
Day 1
Your driver/guide will meet you at your coastal hotel for the 200km journey to Tsavo East National Park. Arrive at Satao Camp in time for lunch. An afternoon game drive will take you to the north eastern side of the park which is a good place to see buffalo, rhino and giraffe. Early in the evening on your way back to camp visit the Aruba dam and great place to watch the sunset and observe animals coming for an evening drink.
Accommodation: Overnight at Satao Camp.
Day 2
After an early breakfast drive to Lugards falls on the Galana River. Here you can see crocodiles and hippos. Continue to Taita Hills game viewing en route. Lunch at the lodge followed by a game drive in the Private Wildlife Sanctuary
Accommodation: Overnight at Saltlick Lodge
Day 3
Early morning game viewing drive in this beautiful park. There are 50 different mammal species here. Lunch at the Saltlick Lodge. Afternoon transfer to Mombasa and your beach hotel.
