Le Touessrok, Mauritius

Set in one of the most romantic places in the world, surrounded by pristine white sand beaches that slope gently down to the crystal clear waters of the Indian Ocean, Le Touessrok is the pinnacle of tropical luxury. The resort combines a Mediterranean village style with a contemporary sophistication that will make anyone feel like they are in paradise. A wooden bridge links to Frangipani Island where a range of new suits have recently been built. A ten minute boat trip takes you to Ile aux Cerfs island, where a beautiful new restaurant has been built, and also to Le Touessroks incredible championship golf course, endorsed by Bernhard Lange. The resort's retreat island, Ilot Mangénie, is only a five minute trip by private boat.
After a complete rebuilding and restyling in 2002, Le Touessrok has new rooms, new suites and new cuisines, along with the new Givenchy Spa, the ultimate way to relax.
Accommodation
On the mainland, the Hibiscus and Coral Wings are magnificently placed along stretches of white sandy beach. The Hibiscus wing features 32 new Junior Suites, 37 refurbished Deluxe Rooms and the crowning jewel - The Royal Suite. The Coral Wing faces east towards Ilot Mangénie, affording guests perfect sunrise views. The Coral Wing has 31 refurbished Deluxe Rooms and a Junior Suite. All rooms look out over the sun-drenched sea and are the epitome of cool tropical luxury.
On the private Frangipani Island linked to the mainland by a spectacular wooden bridge, there are 98 newly-built suites, all sea-facing. All suites look outwards over the crystal Indian Ocean, lulled by the far-off boom of the surf on the coral reef, circling the island to give huge panoramic views. The suites are airy split-level layouts with chic off-white walls and porcelain tiled floors, crisp white Egyptian cottons on the beds, bathrooms with funky egg-shaped baths of poured marble/concrete (with sea views and more than enough room for two), fibre optic lighting, Philips DVD/CD/VCD players and plasma-screen TVs contrasting with rich African woods, soft fabrics and decorative panels reminiscent of traditional Creole designs.
Dining
Guests dining at Le Touessrok have an unprecedented choice of cuisines and locations. We've brought the hotel right up to date with the range of food we're featuring."
Two restaurants are set on the mainland overlooking the pool and beach, but guests can also cross the connecting bridge to dine on Frangipani Island, or take a free taxi boat to the Ile aux Cerfs or Ilot Mangénie for lunch at one of the beachside restaurants.
For those guests who can't face moving from their sun bed on the beach, they need not lift a finger, they can simply choose from drinks, snacks and tropical fruit - available all day until sunset - or select from a light a la carte menu on the beach (this service is available both on the main beach and on Frangipani Island). Everything from delicious sandwiches of smoked fish, salads or children's meals of fish and chips or burgers are served in handy, stylish boxes complete with cutlery and serviettes, delivered by attentive, friendly staff.

Kids Only
Hidden away and surrounded by trees is the ‘secret’ location of the Robin Hood themed KidsOnly kids club. A beautiful log built hideaway that is tucked away to one side of the hotel. While the parents relax at the pool or on the beach, the club is the best way for kids to get the most out of their holiday while staying happy and safe. KidsOnly gives the children all sorts of privileges, from its private pool, tree house and play areas to the arts and craft facilities, computer station and even its own restaurant, that allows the kids to bake their own cookies and other meals and provides afternoon tea for them.
