Livingstone & Chobe Family Holiday - 6 nights

The following sample family holiday is a week spent exploring the famous Victoria Falls in Zambia followed by an exciting safari in the nearby Chobe Game Reserve, famous for its huge herds of elephants.

If you like you can also add on a desert experience in the Kalahari or Makagadikgadi or a further safari in the Okavango Delta. In many cases guests like the idea of a twin centre holiday and move on from Botswana to the beaches of KwaZulu Natal in South Africa, Mozambique or Mauritius or incorporate Cape Town. What you choose is dependent on season, how much time you have on your hands and of course budget. For each region we have provided a choice of 2 accommodation options to cater to a range of budgets. Of course there are plenty of camps to choose from but these are a few of our favourites. Below is simply an idea of what you may like to do with the family but it can easily be tailored to better suit the family's individual requirements.

Day 1 - 3:

Once you have cleared customs and immigration in Livingstone, Zambia you will be met in the arrivals hall by a representative of Mahlatini who will then transfer you by road to your chosen lodge.

Livingstone is famous for the magnificent Victoria Falls on the mighty Zambezi River. Livingstone is also the home of the Smoke that Thunders or Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park and masses of activities built around these magnificent landmarks. Spend your next three days viewing the Victoria Falls or partaking in one of the many activities on offer from the more adventurous such as white water rafting, helicopter flips over the Victoria Falls, jet boating, horse riding and even bungee jumping to the more sedate such as boat cruises up the Zambezi, walks with elephants or just relaxing in the beautiful surroundings.

Day 4 - 6:

This morning after breakfast you will be met and transferred to for an amazing scenic adventure by boat and road to your lodge in the famous Chobe National Park. This journey is a stunning trip down the Zambezi Valley and allows you to experience first hand the beauty of the river systems, geographical wonders and cultural heritage of this diverse area. The journey will take approximately 2 hours to your lodge and you will be hosted and assisted through all the immigration facilities along the route.

The Chobe National Park contains the world's largest concentration of elephants and offers some of the most exciting game viewing by boat on offer in Africa. Slowly cruising down the Chobe River is fantastic way to experience the wildlife of the region and the best way to view both the elephants and a host of other game coming down to drink from the river's edge. Spend the next three days enjoying all that the lodge has to offer.

Day 7:

This morning after your morning activity and brunch you will be met and transferred back to Livingstone Airport where your journey will end.
