Xigera Camp

Xigera Camp is nestled in a magnificent riverine forest that epitomises the Okavango Delta: a tranquil true Delta experience in the domain of the elusive sitatunga antelope and sought-after Pel's Fishing-Owl. Xigera Camp (pronounced Keejera) dwells on an island in the heart of the Delta in Moremi Game Reserve. Xigera is set in what is truly a wetland paradise, surrounded as it is by deep channels and lush riverine vegetation. Lion and leopard are often seen from the camp crossing the bridge. Lechwe, sitatunga, buffalo, and hippo are seen often from mokoro. Plains game is good and bushbuck are a feature. There is an incredible diversity and abundance of birds.

Holiday to Botswana during February 2011

Botswana Review

All I really know about Botswana is the camps I stayed in and the bush apart from a brief visit to Maun which can probably best be described as a "frontier" town but it seemed to me to be clean and orderly
