Jacana Camp

Jacana Camp is situated on Moremi Game Reserve's boundary in the private Jao Concession. The camp is an island wonderland set in a wilderness area densely populated with amazing wildlife and teeming birdlife. It is a true Okavango Delta water camp, where explorations by mokoro provide an idyllic connection to a bygone era that allows silent and tranquil passage along papyrus-fringed channels. The game viewing depends on the time of year and the water levels in the Okavango. Lechwe, hippo, reedbuck, crocodile, and sitatunga are often seen on water activities, elephants are common when the fan palm fruit is ripe in late July onwards. Plains game is good on summer game drives and birding is excellent.

Holiday to Botswana during February 2011

Botswana Review

All I really know about Botswana is the camps I stayed in and the bush apart from a brief visit to Maun which can probably best be described as a "frontier" town but it seemed to me to be clean and orderly
