I had a wonderful time at Little Governor's Camp. I particularly liked the fact that I had no electricity in my tent, and that it was gas lit, really adding to the experience of sleeping under canvas. A favourite memory from the camp was being escorted to dinner and encountering a herd of elephants in camp. I will never forget sitting with gin and tonic in hand and watching the elephants in the dark just metres from where I was sitting.

Little Governor's Camp is set up around a watering hole making it an ideal place to sit back and watch the multitude of birds and animals that call by, even before you have got out on a game drive. Little Governor's Camp offers guests an intimate and romantic atmosphere being composed of only 17 tents set in the forest, each offering an ever changing view of the wildlife. Offering you 3 game drives each day gives you more chance to experience the daily drama of life in the Masai Mara, and more chance to catch the river crossings during the migration. Sitting around the bonfire here at dusk you will certainly have plenty of wildlife experiences to talk about and memories you will cherish forever.

Location

Fly into the Musiara airstrip, 45 minutes flight from Nairobi and then transfer for 15 minutes to reach the camp. Final approach to the camp is by boat across the Mara River and then on foot. To road transfer from Nairobi takes about 6 hours.

Accommodation

Little Governor's Camp offers 12 twin tents and 5 double tents. All tents have a private veranda and en suite bathrooms with showers and hot and cold running water.
