In my mind South Africa really lives up to its name the' Rainbow Nation' – not only due to its many different types of people but its diversity of scenery, leading it to be described as a 'world in one country'. The country features traditional African savannah and wildlife; Indian Ocean beaches; magnificent mountain ranges; first world cities or awesome deserts. There is no end to the breathtaking scenery and smiling faces.
The Kruger National Park, South Africa's largest and most diverse reserve is also one of its oldest. The Kruger is justifiably famous for regular viewing of the Big Five as well as rarer highlights such as cheetah and African wild dogs. Visitors can expect to see some 30 mammal species in a typical three day visit. There are a number of private reserves adjacent to the park that offers an exclusive safari experience.
The Sabi Sands Game Reserve, situated in the southern area of Kruger is by far the most popular. There are several up market lodges here where you can enjoy an unsurpassed safari experience. The Timbivati and Thornybush Game Reserves are situated in the northern regions and although less popular in comparison to the Sabi Sands area, there are some really special lodges to choose from. Cost is comparably more expensive when staying at a private lodge, but no one ever regrets paying a bit more for the unique experience of a private reserve.
You can easily combine a visit to the Kruger region with time in the Cape region via the network of domestic flights
What an awesome honeymoon. What a combination, bush and beach! I’m not sure any other holiday could top this one! Jacqui and Steed Richardson Mar 08
