Malawi Honeymoons

Malawi is not really a big five safari destination but it is home to lush landscapes with a variety of wildlife and an amazing collection of birdlife. For a premier safari experience we recommend a visit to Mvuu Wilderness Lodge in Liwonde National Park, long the banks of the Shire River. This is a lush and fertile area, an excellent diversity of animals - including elephant and sable antelope, impala and waterbuck - can be seen. For those looking for a more traditional safari experience why not combine a beach stay at Lake Malawi with an exciting safari at South Luangwa National Park in Zambia.

Mumbo Island offers a pristine and otherwise-deserted tropical island floating on the blue waters of Lake Malawi National Park. Unlike most island destinations in the region, Mumbo Island has never been populated by humans and is still in its natural state. This, together with the focus on non-motorised water sports, makes Mumbo Island ideal for the active outdoors enthusiast. The most popular activities here are snorkelling through the crystal-clear water and lazing in a hammock or in the 'chill-out' area, contemplating the stunning scenery.

Honeymoon Accommodation

We know the lodges & camps in Malawi which are most suitable for honeymooners. Accommodation options are varied but generally the most romantic places to stay are luxury tented camps. Forget all previous notions you may have about camping. This is the ultimate in camping! Most 'tents' consist of large bedrooms and bathrooms including all the modern amenities that you would expect in a luxury hotel. You just happen to be sleeping under canvas instead of concrete, in our opinion the best way to experience Africa - up close and personal with nature. Honeymoons are once in a lifetime holidays and we will ensure that you stay in accommodations which provide the privacy, exclusivity and luxury you would expect.
