The theme on Banyan Tree is an escape for the senses. This along with their no children policy lends the resort a very calm and tranquil air. It has the excellent food and service you would expect of an international 5 star with the food being particularly good. The tranquillity of the resort extends into the evening; do not come here if you are looking for entertainment. It is the perfect place for peace and quiet and doing nothing. At the heart of the island is the spa, which is superb. It is a small island but beautiful and perfectly formed with a sandy beach all the way round. The resort is made up of authentic Indonesian buildings and blends in well with the environment. It is 25 minutes from the airport, but on the negative side, because of this, it is not as remote a hideaway as some and being a small island the rooms are close together.

2 Vabbin Villas - EComes with large landscaped garden with ocean views, al fresco living pavilion, beach ‘sala’ pavilion, sundeck, jet pool and outdoor shower. Ample space makes it ideal for small wedding parties.

15 Deluxe Beach Front Villas - The stylish interior has been designed to be bright and breezy – it opens on to a large sundeck at the front that leads to the beach and into a glitzy bathroom at the back with an outdoor jet pool and garden shower.

8 Deluxe Ocean View Villas - While featuring the same facilities and comfort as a Deluxe Beachfront Villa, the secluded garden setting gives generous space, privacy and shady greenery.

11 Ocean View Villas - Very private with its own open-air jet pool on a wooden patio and a sala (pavilion) in the garden.

Honeymoon to Mauritius and South Africa during March 2012

Mauritius Review

The Heritage Awali resort was lovely, the food, the service, scenery and facilities were all outstanding and an ideal location for rest and relaxation after such a busy time in South Africa.
