Our Comments and Suggestions on choosing a Room Type:
The Charm Rooms are very small so be aware of this when choosing them. They are each dotted around the pool and, as with most of the rooms in this hotel, are right on top of each other. The Beachfront Rooms aren’t much bigger to be honest but have a slightly better location on the waterfront.
The Suites are the best room type, particularly the Austral Suites which either have a Jacuzzi or private pool. They are very spacious and have great views. If it is a special occasion holiday or a honeymoon definitely go for the Austral Suites.
The Charm Rooms are modest in size, being the entry level room. They all overlook the beautiful coconut grove that opens onto the sea, allowing you to "live" the 20°Sud experience at a reduced rate. Nevertheless they are totally faithful to the spirit that we sought for this hotel: all different, with a great deal of charm.
The Beachfront Rooms are situated on the waterfront and offer stunning views of the bay. They are equipped to the standards of the Hotel 20°Sud but as a little extra, like the Suites, Nespresso coffee machines are also provided.
The Suites, (including one triple) look out onto the bay in a truly, exceptional setting. They are 20 m from the water and each has an outdoor Jacuzzi .
The Austral Suites are all different, offering a surface area of more than 90m². They are each equipped with a small swimming pool overlooking the sea, for those on the ground floor and for those on the first floor, with a large Jacuzzi. Their terraces are less than 2m from the water and the breathtaking view gives you the impression of literally being on board a boat.

Room Facilities
All the rooms are air-conditioned and have a beautiful terrace which looks onto the attractive coconut grove bordering the sea. The rooms are tastefully furnished and equipped with queen-size bed, safe, plasma extra flat screen television (17 channels Canal Satellite®), DVD player, telephone and free, unlimited access to high speed WIFI internet.
A minibar and tea- and coffee-making facilities (Nespresso® machine in the "Beachfront" rooms, the "Suites" and the "Austral Suites") are at your disposal.
Each bathroom is equipped with an old style bath, a separate shower and two wash basins built into a beautiful wooden surround. The suites additionally have either an outdoor hot tub (Jacuzzi®) or a small private swimming pool.
Restaurants & Bars
20 Degrees South offers 3 restaurants.
- The first within the hotel itself
- Another housed within a ruin situated on an island just off the coast
- The third on a beautiful old boat renovated by the hotel called the M/S "Lady Lisbeth"
The kitchen is directed by the talented Mauritian chef, Manolito Grosset, who gained his experience in the finest hotels of Mauritius as well as in a starred restaurant in Switzerland. He will prepare some delicious fish-based dishes just for you. The fish are caught off the shores of the Mascarene Islands and include varieties such as babonne, vieille rouge (red wrasse), coryfène sea-bream, sacréchien and vacoas. The meat is just as tasty and comes from South Africa.
You can also savour our six-course lobster menu, or a sushi menu prepared from the catch of the day. On request only.
At the hotel: The hotel’s restaurant is situated just 10 metres from the sea. Several different dining areas are at your disposal: at the edge of the main swimming pool, inside or on the seashore.
To make you feel at home, your breakfast is available at anytime. And everyday a “4 o’clock tea or coffee” is served, free of charge, accompanied by a delicious freshly-made homemade cake.
Spa & Treatments
Valerie and her team of therapists welcome you daily from 9.00 a.m. to 8.00 p.m. The facilities comprise four treatment rooms, two of which are double rooms so couples can to be massaged together. A beautiful hammam and whirlpool bath are also freely available to you (no booking required).

The " Lovers Retreat " is 150 min of pure shared pleasure & includes:
- A crystal peeling with flower petals
- A Monticelli mud wrap
- A relaxing hot oil massage perfumed with sensual jasmin
- Followed by a flower petal bath
The hotel is also in contact with the Dental Practice, "Medicare", which provides an on-site, teeth whitening service. The treatment lasts for an hour and is performed by a qualified dentist who comes to the hotel uniquely for this purpose.
Families
20 Degrees South do accept children and one or two of their rooms will accommodate children in a small single bed, however, it is our feeling that this hotel isn’t really a child friendly hotel.

20 Degrees South isn’t for all honeymooners but those that like small boutique style places should find this hotel very suitable. The Austral Suites are absolutely stunning with their own Jacuzzi or private pool.
Honeymoons
The hotel offers some good honeymoon discounts. In low season there is a 50% discount for the 2nd person on a half board basis. In high season this is a 25% discount. Honeymoon gifts vary from room to room but all include one Pareo and one t-shirt. In the higher room types you will receive duo massages or boat trips.
Anniversaries
The same above discounts applies for special anniversary dates from the 10th, 15th, 20th, 25th, 30th etc.
All Inclusive
An all inclusive meal basis is not offered at this hotel.
