Our Comments and Suggestions on choosing a Room Type:
For the entry level rooms we often suggest you go for a superior room above a standard room if budget allows. The standard rooms whilst lovely and modern and a fairly decent size, do have a very small balcony or terrace. For slightly more money in the Superior Rooms you will get your own enclosed garden terrace, as well as a little bit larger room. The Family Apartments are brilliant, offering enough space for a family of up to 5. If you are a couple looking to spoil yourselves definitely consider a honeymoon suite, with your own private plunge pool and whirlpool bath.
The Standard Rooms are all located on the first and second floors of the hotel. They each host a small terrace or balcony. The maximum room occupancy is 2 adults and 1 child.
The Superior Rooms are all located on the ground floor and are larger than the standard rooms. Each has its own private garden area and can accommodate up to 2 adults and 1 child.
The Family Apartments are set within the gardens and have their own private garden. They each have 2 ensuite bedrooms. Some apartments are all on one level and some have a children’s room upstairs. They can accommodate up to 2 adults and 3 children.
The Honeymoon Suites are all on the top floor. The beautiful interiors feature romantic decor. There is a spacious open plan bedroom and living area and an elegant bathroom with whirlpool bath. There is also a large walk in wardrobe, an outdoor shower and a private plunge pool.
The Loft Rooms consist of two bedrooms split over two floors. They are light, airy and modern. The second bedroom is located beneath the master bedroom and has twin beds and a sofa bed with bathroom. The room also includes a flat screen TV. These loft rooms can accommodate 2 adults and 3 children.
The Villa is an exclusive 2 bedroom villa with its own private plunge pool enclosed in a private garden. It can accommodate 2 adults and 3 children.

Restaurants & Bars
Le Mauricia offers 2 restaurants, 1 bar and 1 nightclub.
Les Quais overlooks one of the pools and serves breakfast and á la carte lunch. In the evenings you can take a voyage of discovery at themed buffets served from 'live' cooking stations. Buffet style Breakfast is served between 0730 to 1000, á la carte lunch from 1230 to 1430 and buffet style evening meal from 1830 to 2130.
Le Nautic provides a great location for dining with a view, positioned close to the pool and beach. It's open for á la carte lunch and either a daily chef's Menu or á la carte dinner. Lunch is served from 1230 to 1430. Dinner is by reservation only and is served between 1930 and 2130. Le Nautic has a intimate atmosphere when night falls.
The main bar, Bay Watch, is located by the pool and serves snacks between 1000 and 1600. Open between 0900 and 2300. Tasty pancakes will be served between 1600 and 1800.
If you want to live it up a little, try La Rhumerie nightclub which opens until late, or take a short walk along the beach to enjoy the nightlife of Grand Baie.
Guests are also able to inter-dine at Le Canonnier, although from time to time these restaurants may be full with Le Canonnier guests.
Meal Plan: Breakfast and evening meal. Dinner is either buffet or Chef's Daily Menu, in selected restaurants only, with á la carte dishes available at a supplement. An all inclusive option is also available. Occasionally a restaurant may close for a group booking.
Spa & Treatments
Invoking the ambiance of a Moroccan medina, the structure of the Wellness Centre features cabins linked together by a series of arches opening onto a symmetrical reflecting pool. Facilities include:

Le Mauricia is 100% a family friendly hotel. Not only do all of the rooms (except the honeymoon suite) accommodate children, but there are 2 bedroom family apartments specifically designed to accommodate families of 4 or 5. The all inclusive nature of the hotel (if you opt for this option) ensures that parents aren’t continuously worrying about every drink or snack being consumed by their children going onto a large bill at the end of the stay. During school holidays there will be plenty of other families at the hotel providing children with other children to play with and the kids club will keep children so entertained that parents can take a well earned break.

Kids Club
All Beachcomber hotels have a free Bob Marlin Mini Club which welcomes children aged 3 - 12 years. The children's club at Le Mauricia is open from 9am - 9pm, 7 days a week.
The clubs are run by qualified professionals who provide fun, but also educational, indoor and outdoor activities to keep your little ones entertained and happy.
Every day there is a set activities programme which you can dip in and out of, if you also want to spend some family time together during the day.

Land Sports
Le Mauricia has 3 floodlit tennis courts (hard court, Head tennis racket hire is complimentary however tennis balls will need to be purchased), table tennis, volley ball and bocciball all of which are free for guests. Mountain bikes are also available for hire.
Gym
Guests may make use of the gymnasium which has machines and weights.
Water Sports
Gentle, inviting waters make Mauritius a perfect destination for water activities: waterskiing, windsurfing, sailing, glass bottom boat trips, snorkelling, kayaks and pedal boats are all complimentary for guests. The hotel also offers free weekly group windsurfing and sailing lessons.
Deep Sea Fishing
In season, Mauritius offers superb deep sea fishing. There is a fishing charter company just 10 minutes from Le Mauricia. The charters offer half and full day trips on fully equipped specialist fishing boats (including quality tackle and bait).
Diving
Le Mauricia has an on-site PADI affiliated Dive Centre with a comprehensive diving programme. There are a number of decent dive sites within 20 minutes boat ride of the hotel.
Golf
Le Mauricia Hotel will not suit all couples. It is really for those people looking for good value for money and a bit of a social atmosphere. It is one of a small number of hotels that hosts a nightclub. It also suits those wanting to get out and about and explore the island because it is within walking distance of Grand Baie. If you are after a secluded and private experience overlooking an endless blue sea, this isn’t for you. The hotel looks out over the bay and busy harbour. If you can afford it, go for the honeymoon suit, it is the best room in the hotel.
The price is often what makes Le Mauricia attractive and we have had hundreds of couples go to Le Mauricia and love it, regardless of room type chosen. Weddings are also popular at Le Mauricia.
Honeymoons
For most of 2010 Le Mauricia is offering a 10% discount to Honeymooners as well as honeymoon gifts including a small bottle of champagne and fruits on arrival and a gift a bag and a t-shirt. Lunches are also offered complimentary during the whole of the stay or 50% reduction off All Inclusive.
Anniversaries
For most of 2010 Le Mauricia is offering a 10% discount to those celebrating an anniversary well as special gifts including a small bottle of champagne and fruits on arrival and a gift of two t-shirts. A copy of the Wedding Certificate will be required on check-in for validation.
Note: Applies to every 5th years Wedding Anniversary which must be within 3 months of the arrival date at
the hotel.

Weddings
Le Mauricia is a stunning little property and we would recommend for our brides and grooms who would enjoy a lively honeymoon. Just a few minutes’ walk from Grand Baie, you can combine all of the luxuries this 4* hotel has to offer combined with the night life of Grand Baie. The resort allows guests to get married on the beach with a private band or a lone singer and really does provide a very private, romantic ceremony.
