Room Types

Our Comments and Suggestions on choosing a Room Type:

The Royal Suites are situated in the northern part of the resort with the two 78m² Royal Suites, Bougainvillaea and Flamboyant, each occupying a larger cottage. Very private and each with their own garden, they open onto the palm grove and the ocean for beautiful views. Superbly appointed with elegant, Asian-style furniture, they are also bright and airy with a large bedroom and separate lounge and dining room. The terraces also afford unparalleled views of the beautiful beach and crystal clear Indian Ocean. Guests receive a complimentary fruit basket upon arrival, with brightly coloured bouquets and lovely arrangements of frangipani flowers adding to the charm.

Standard Rooms are a spacious 25m2 each, some communicating, which is perfect for families. Drenched in light and bathed in warm sunshine with fragrant frangipani flowers delicately sited here and there, the rooms also have ceiling fans with large, marine wood blades.

Superior Rooms are 35m2 each, gathered in 5 small villages facing the ocean. It truly is an exquisite location, each occupies a cottage by itself and can accommodate a family of up to 4 (provided the two children are 12 years or younger), thanks to a sofa bed or two convertible armchairs.

The kids are organised in age groups, with activities to match. For those aged 2 to 4, for instance, the range includes glass-bottom-boat outings, learning to dance the séga, and playing 'Find The Dodo'. For the 5- to 7-year-olds, it’s snorkelling, swimming pool, mini-Olympics... And for the 8-to-11 age group, it’s water polo, tennis lessons, kayak, water-skiing, windsurfing, etc. Educational excursions are organised for all groups, as are special games and mini-events, such as crab-catching on the beach, underwater-life discovery, treasure hunts, hair-tinting and decorative painting.

The new 18-hole par-72 championship Tamarina Golf Club is only a 15-minute drive from the Resort and we have special rates for this stunning course – just contact us for details.

The 7,400-yard course is magical, spread over about 100 acres, crossing the River Rempart, with mature tamarind and other trees and has been specially designed to preserve the feeling of African savannah and provide scenic views of the surrounding mountains on one hand and the ocean to the west.

There are five sets of tees for various levels, and a 350-yard practice range. Qualified caddies are available and, although walking is allowed, guests are advised to rent one of the start-of-the-art golf carts, equipped with cooler box etc. Clubs and trolleys are also available for hire.

The Clubhouse, with its bar, restaurant, boutique, Pro-shop, changing room and bag storage facilities, looks out over the 18th fairway and green, with sea, river and mountain views from the decked veranda.
