Contact a specialist about Hotel Polana, Mozambique

Vamizi Island lies off the coast of northern Mozambique in the Quirimbas Archipelago. It remains one of the last pristine marine wilderness areas left in the Indian Ocean. On the island, eight kilometres of white beach lie between indigenous tropical forest, and turquoise waters. Vamizi Island has 10 luxurious beach houses. Each house looks onto its own private stretch of beach, and the ocean beyond.

  • 350 species of fish have been identified in the unbleached coral reefs around Vamizi. There are 16 different dive sites from shallow dives for beginners, to vertical wall dives for more experienced divers.
  • For keen blue-water fishermen, the vertical drop-off beyond the reef teams with predator fish including sailfish, marlin, tuna, giant trevelly and wahoo. For fly-fishermen, 12 different species of fish have been caught on fly to date.
  • Guided or solo kayaking adventures are available through the mangroves and shallow reefs. Vamizi Island also has 2 shaded dhows, which are anchored off-shore close to some of the best snorkeling spots. Client Comments

Indigo Bay was just paradise. We aren’t beach people but we just loved it, it was absolutely amazing the rooms, the people the service and the food. It was just a paradise island, we did very little there but chilled, the spa was unreal, would definitely recommend it.
