Day 1:

On arrival you will be met by a Mahlatini representative at the Windhoek/Hosea Kutako International Airport, who will hand over your travel documents and assist you with the collection of your rental vehicle.

Self drive from Windhoek/Hosea Kutako International Airport to Vertigo Boutique Hotel situated in the upmarket residential area of Windhoek. Windhoek offers the ideal base to get some well needed rest after your long international flight, enjoy some shopping in our clean town and orientate yourself before commencing on your journey.

Day 2:

Self drive from Windoek to Sossus Dune Lodge. Whilst this is a government run establishment, with Namibia Wildlife Resorts, which might not be of the same exclusive calibre as the private lodges bordering the park, it offers ideal access to the Sossusvlei dunes and entrance for its guests into the Namib Naukluft Park before sunrise, making it a convenient option for only 1 night stays. Sossus Dune Lodge offers professional guided excursions to Sossusvlei, Sesriem and the surrounding areas, as well as sunset drives and guided walks, to fully unleash the beauty and biological diversity of the desert environment.

Day 3 & 4:

Self drive from Kulala Desert Lodge to to Wolwedans Dune Lodge, one of the most beautiful destinations in Namibia. Located inside the exclusive Namib Rand Nature Reserve, the stunning setting will take your breath away. Located 6 km south of Sossusvlei, the NamibRand Nature Reserve is synonymous with some of Africa's most breathtaking locations. The special attraction of this private reserve is the diversity of desert landscapes in one cohesive area. Virtually all facets of the Namib are represented here, creating a living tapestry of colours and shapes that make it a visual utopia for artists and photographers. Game species found in the reserve include Gemsbok, Mountain and Plains Zebra, Springbok, Red Hartebeest, Bat-eared Fox, Spotted Hyena, Cape Fox and African Wildcats. The more rocky areas are inhabited by Kudu, Klipspringer, Baboon and Leopard, while the dunes harbour a rich and diverse micro-fauna. Over a hundred species of birds have been recorded.

Day 5 & 6:

Today you will drive to Swakopmund. Swakopmund is not the usual beach destination, even if palm trees line the streets. This quaint town, located on the Atlantic seaboard, offers a cool climate year round, and it takes a brave soul to swim in the cold, murky ocean. Main attractions are rather the birding, desert environment and boat cruises, though it does offer a few beaches for some sun tanning, if the weather plays right.

The following day you will self drive to Walvis Bay Yacht Club in time for the morning Catamaran Boat cruise to find dolphins and seals. Many year-round sport and recreation activities are offered in and around Swakopmund and Walvis Bay: Dolphin and Seal cruises in speed boats and catamaran sailboats; Kayaking in the lagoon. Guided half and full day excursions to the desert and Sandwich Harbour. Then there are there more adrenalin rush activities such as paragliding, hang-gliding, surfing, windsurfing, yachting, sand skiing, sky-diving. The golf course in its desert setting has been described as one of the best in southern Africa.

Day 7 & 8:

Self drive from Swakopmund to Camp Kipwe. The ideal location to all highlights of the Damaraland, including the Twyfelfontein Rock Engravings and Living Museum, the setting of this camp amongst the rock boulders is a definite highlight. Damaraland is one of the most scenic areas in Namibia, prehistoric water courses with open plains and grassland, massive granite koppies and distant mountains create the landscape. Game species include desert elephant, black rhino, ostrich and springbok.

Day 9 & 10:

Self drive to Okaukuejo Rest Camp. Okaukuejo is located inside Namibia's premier wildlife destination, the Etosha National Park. Okaukuejo is all about location, location, location. This is a larger resort and lacks the personal attention and service of the previous lodges but considering this affordable price tag, and the location within the Etosha National Park, it's the ideal place for excellent game viewing. Home to the Africat foundation, the activities centre around the cheetah, lion, leopard and other wild cats research, conservation and rehabilation efforts. There is possibility to see cheetah, lion and leopard, which are unable to be released back into the wild. It also offers luxurious and comfortable accommodation in the bush, with lots of leisure time available.
