Planning and organising your holidays for 2011 should be fun and exciting, don’t let lack of availability or spiralling costs get in the way of your dream trip by following some of our expert advice.
In most destinations, across Southern Africa and the Indian Ocean Islands, it is rare to pick up last minute deals. Often it is a case of the early bird catches the worm. There are many reasons why forward planning can pay dividends, here are the most important:
- Availability is likely to be very restricted in your first choice of accommodation, especially in peak season and most especially when travelling as a family. Remember some of the best accommodations have less than 10 rooms in total!
- Many hotels, particularly in the Indian Ocean Islands, offer a significant early booking discount.
- You can reserve the best rooms with the best locations if you book early.
- Normally the best value can be achieved by travelling over the shoulder season (the short period between low and high season), imagine low season rates with high season weather and wildlife!
The months of July, August and December are peak months for travel in Africa and the Indian Ocean Islands. Both flight and accommodation availability may become an issue if you delay in booking your holiday.
If you plan to travel over Christmas but aren’t ready to commit to a holiday this early in the year, contact us now for an initial consultation. We can provisionally hold flights for you (with absolutely no obligation) until you are ready to finalise your holiday itinerary. We can hold flights with no obligation up to, and even beyond 6 months!
