Al Waha, meaning "The Oasis” is the largest hotel in the resort and is Oman’s first dedicated leisure hotel. The hotels many swimming pools which are lined with date palm trees form a tranquil Oasis thus the name “Al Waha”.

The hotels architecture is traditional Dhofari, which originates from the southern region of Oman and its interior is comprised of luxurious sea view rooms and suites. Out of each of the hotels within the Barr Al Jissah resort Al Waha is the most suitable for families because of its size and availability of family suites. Al Waha is situated at the foot of a mountain range and has a total of 262 guestrooms. Due to its location the hotels vehicle access is via a man-made tunnel.

Al Bandar, meaning “The Town” is the third of Barr Al Jissah’s resort hotels. The name has been inspired by this grand building which has strong influences of old Muscat architecture. The buildings of this hotel have a variety of ornate balconies and vary in height which adds to the vibe of “The Town” look.

Al Bandar is the focal point of the resort, featuring 11 meeting rooms, eight food and beverage outlets and as well as the spectacular Barr Al Jissah Ballroom which can provide banquet-style seating. Al Bandar offers 198 sea facing guest rooms within the five-star luxury property.

Shangri-La's Barr Al Jissah Resort and Spa offers a wide choice of restaurants in Muscat at each of our three hotels. At Al Waha hotel, enjoy the culinary theatre and Latin flavours of Samba or pick up a child-friendly meal at the Surf Café.

Guests staying at AL Husn are welcome to use the facilities at all three hotels at the resort; however the facilities at Al Husn are exclusively for guests at Al Husn. Exclusive facilities include a glittering infinity pool, private beach bar and relaxing cigar lounge, as well as a late check out lounge and private gym. All kinds of leisure facilities are catered for here including water based and land based sports.

Al Husn

Speciality Suites are composed for the ultimate in luxury and have a contemporary décor within this spacious area. They provide guests with up to date technology and state-of-the-art amenities, including a flat screen television, DVD entertainment centre and broadband internet access. This suite is brings together a separate bedroom, sitting room, and dining area so that guests can entertain visitors in luxury and privacy. The room boasts views of the lush gardens and pools which are set in the backdrop of the Bay of Jissah.

Al Bandar

One Bedroom Suites are generally ideal for those guests needing a little extra space or perhaps travelling in a group. The suite is styled with Arabian influences and includes a separate sitting room, ideal for entertaining travelling partners or other visitors. Each suite has views over the lush gardens and pools towards the Gulf of Oman. Like all other suites internet access is available.

Speciality Suites have an expanse of space which is sympathetically decorated to an Arabian theme. The Suite is comprised of a bedroom, separate sitting room and separate dining area. The amenities provided are up to date including a flat screen TV and DVD entertainment centre.

Al Husn

Deluxe Rooms are 48sqm and all have views of the tranquil courtyard and the pool area. Guests can enjoy exclusive dining, bar and beach areas as well as many other benefits. The bathroom is fitted with marble-clad features and the balcony is finished with two chairs and a small couch.

Deluxe Sea View Rooms are similar in nature to Deluxe Rooms however all have views of the stunning waters of the Gulf of Oman and some offer a panorama view of the resort and surrounding coastline.

Al Waha

Superior Rooms all provide extravagant views of the lush green gardens and swimming pool within a spacious and comfortable environment. All of the superior rooms are convenient to the pool area and provide patio or balcony seating as well as in room broadband internet access. The en-suite provides a spacious shower and bath.

Superior Sea Facing Rooms entice guests with inviting views towards the Bay of Al Jissah across either neatly manicured gardens or one of the many swimming pools. These rooms have a calm environment due to the tranquil views of the gulf of Oman. Like the superior rooms the seafaring rooms also provide internet access and a spacious en-suite.

Superior Sea View Rooms all have direct views of the beach and the Bay of Al Jissah. With stylish and comfortable interiors the rooms open up to the amazing views of the Oman gulf. All sea view rooms provide a writing desk and high-speed internet access along with seating on the balcony or patio.

Executive Sea View rooms provide an expanse of space suitable for small families or individuals travelling together. The breath-taking views from this room provide guests with scenes from the Gulf of Oman. This room like others has broadband internet access, a writing desk and a sofa. The en-suite is comprised of both bath and shower.

Family rooms are ideal for groups of people travelling together as well as families. They offer beautiful views of the gardens and pools of the hotel with the backdrop of the Oman Gulf.

Family rooms are comprised of two interconnecting bedrooms, one with a king size bed the other with twin beds, each with its own en suite bathroom. The twin bedded room has special features including a DVD player and Play Station, a selection of games and other items designed especially for our younger guests.

Our luxury two-bedroom Al Waha Family Rooms offer a comfortable writing desk and complimentary broadband Internet access along with two balconies or patios with table and chairs.

Al Bandar

Deluxe Rooms are designed with an Arabian inspired décor providing guests with the flavour of Oman through sumptuous fabrics within a modern spacious setting. All of the deluxe rooms have views over the lush gardens and/or pools towards the Gulf of Oman and have spacious en-suites which are comprised of a shower and a bath. In room broad band is available and the room includes a comfortable writing desk.

Deluxe Terrace Rooms naturally lead out onto a magnificent terrace which has access the carefully manicured gardens of the hotel as well as the pool areas. The interiors have similar décor as the deluxe suites with an Arabian style finish bringing a touch of culture to your stay. These spacious rooms include a luxurious en-suite, in room internet access and magnificent views of the Bay of Jissah.

Deluxe Sea Facing Rooms at Al Bandar infuse a contempory space with light Arabian décor amidst views of the Gulf of Oman. Guests of the deluxe sea facing rooms can enjoy glorious vistas from the seating on their balcony.

Premier Rooms proffer optimum space for guests and are known for being the largest non-suite rooms in the resort. With touches of Arabian-inspired décor throughout guests can enjoy views of the gardens and/or pool area towards the Gulf of Oman from their balcony or patio.
