General
In Oman the summer begins in mid-April and lasts until October, higher temperatures can be found inland where readingsin the shade have been registered up to 53 °C. Lower level areas can experience humidity as high as 90 percent. Winter temperatures are mild and pleasant, ranging between 18 and 26 °C. Overall Oman is hot and dry most of the year.
Climate
Oman has an extremely hot and dry most of the year, there is only one exception, the Dhofar region. It has a strong monsoon climate and receives warm winds from the Indian Ocean.
Rainfall
Rainfall occurs mainly during mid to late winter however there are exceptions in areas of higher ground and in Dhofar where monsoon season runs from June to September.
