Primate Safaris

For those looking for a different type of safari experience why not consider a primate safari in the likes of Uganda or Rwanda? In stark contrast to many other African holiday destinations, these countries offer a well watered, fertile land covered in dense forest and waterways. Primates are their specialty and one of the undoubted highlights of any visit is tracking habituated mountain gorillas in Bwindi or Mgahinga National Parks in Uganda or Volcanoes National Park in Rwanda. Spending time with these wonderful charismatic animals is one of the great wildlife experiences. Tracking chimpanzees in Kibale National Park and at the Chamburu Gorge in Uganda is equally as thrilling, the excited hoots of these boisterous drama queens herald your arrival. At Kibale there is also a possibility of seeing forest elephants.

Quite a number of Mahlatini staff have been privileged enough to experience both the gorillas and chimpanzees of these countries and would be more than happy to share their thrilling experience of this with you.
