Overview of Seychelles
This outstanding enclave rises up out of the waters of the Indian Ocean just 4 degrees south of the equator and is a perfect distance from South Africa and Kenya for those wishing to make a combination holiday. The beaches of the Seychelles proffer white sand, beautiful waters and all year sunshine making it a perfect fit for honeymooners and golfers alike. This haven of romance is a favourite for people wishing to get married abroad and indulging guests with fabulous views and the opportunity to begin their married life in style.
The popularity of the Seychelles is not solely based upon its amazing setting as it has developed itself as an easy and safe place to travel to. Travellers will not require either vaccinations, anti-malarial or Visas before travelling to these islands.
Golf
The Seychelles may only have one golf course however the standard of the greens and facilities at Lemuria Resort are second to none. Here you will have an exhilarating experience as you take in the fabulous views of the cool ocean waters and picturesque neighbouring islands. From our own experience the 15th hole on this golf course is unrivalled by any other tee we have experienced and worth the visit.
Weather
The Seychelles has a tropical climate with temperatures generally falling between 25-30 C all year round. While travel is possible at any time of the year, the months of April through to October generally receive less rainfall and are considered the peak season to travel. December to February is when the Seychelles receive the most rain and during this season the islands are much quieter.
Conditions for swimming, snorkelling and diving are superb during April/May and again in October/November as during these months water visibility is particularly good.
If you are looking for twin centre holiday, Mauritius can easily be combined with South Africa or Kenya.

How to travel
Of the 115 islands in the Seychelles archipelago there are only a small number which offer facilities for guests.
The largest and most developed island is Mahe on which the capital, Victoria, and the main international airport are situated and this will be all visitors’ first experience of the Seychelles. Mahe is approximately 40 km long by 8 km wide, the most popular area of the island is the Beau Vallon Bay area where several resorts are situated on a white crescent shaped beach. Generally the further south you go in Mahe the quieter it becomes with several resorts offering a more secluded and exclusive experience, while still not being far from either the capital for shopping and the airport, nowhere in Mahe being more than a 30 minute drive away.
The island of Praslin is the second largest island in the group. Lacking even a town, Praslin offers a smaller selection of luxurious properties all located on their own beautiful beaches. Much less busy or developed than Mahe, Praslin is reached by either a domestic 15 minute inter island flight a helicopter transfer or a 60 minute catamaran transfer from Mahe.
A world away from the ‘hustle and bustle’ of Victoria, La Digue remains totally unchanged from the Seychelles of years ago. Offering an even more tranquil and relaxed atmosphere than the two bigger islands, cars are almost non existent there are no tarmac roads and travel around the island is by ox cart or bicycle. In an island chain world renowned for breath taking beaches, the beaches on La Digue surpass even those of its neighbours one of which featured in a Bounty Rum advertisement! Only 4 x 3 km in area, it is reached either by a 20 minute ferry ride from Praslin or a 20 minute helicopter transfer from Mahe.
Approximately nine or ten outer or smaller islands offer an ‘ island resort’ experience. Often built into lush tropical hillsides or surrounded by beautifully landscaped gardens and offering stunning views of white sand beaches fringed by lush groves of coconut casuarina and banana plantations, these island resorts often offer the ultimate in luxurious island retreats.
Island hopping is possible between the islands either by regular flights, helicopter or boat both for day trips and for two or three centre combinations in the same itinerary.
Honeymoons & Weddings
In many ways the Seychelles represent the absolutely ideal honeymoon destination as it is quite simply one of the most romantic places on earth. The stunning vistas, pure white sand beaches, exotic greenery, turquoise blue seas and spectacular sunsets all create the backdrop for an unforgettable romantic experience. The culture of the Seychelles is best absorbed on the larger islands of Mahe and Praslin with many more inhabitants and hotels they have a certain calming buzz. For those in search of romance and solitude the outer islands are perfect, many of which are individual resorts.
