Thanda Game Reserve is a fantastic game reserve for honeymooners and romantic couples. Location

By Air: Approximately 3 hours drive up the coast from Durban. It is also possible fly to Richard's Bay, the nearest commercial airport, or a charter flight to Mkuze.

Facilities

Facilities available at Thanda Game Reserve include:

Main Lodge - lounge, library, viewing decks, indoor and outdoor dining areas, boma, wine cellar and cigar bar. There is also a fully equipped business centre.
Tented Camp - own dining tent, boma, sala and pool.
Both accommodations have use of the luxurious wellness centre where a number of treatments are available.

Activities

Activities available at Thanda Game Reserve include twice daily game drives, bush walks, wildlife lectures, junior ranger programme, night walks, bush dinners & breakfasts, and stargazing.

As the lodge works closely with the Zulu community it is also possible to visit Vula Zulu, a living museum set up to show case Zulu culture. Away from the reserve it is possible to play golf, go fishing, horse riding, snorkelling, kayaking, bird watching, turtle tracking or take a micro light flight which can all be arranged for you at additional cost.

Thanda Game Reserve offers:

Main Lodge - 9 luxury villas with private infinity edge swimming pool, sala, boma and viewing deck. Villas also have a lounge, en suite bathroom, indoor and outdoor showers and a fireplace. Meals can be served to guests at their villa for added privacy.

Thanda Tented Camp - 4 luxurious tents with en suite bathrooms. The non-electrified rooms are lit by lamp light adding to the romantic nature of Thanda and have their own private viewing decks.
