Zimbali Lodge, South Africa

Adam Chapman

I loved my stay at Zimbali Lodge. In particular I like the fact that the rooms are situated right in a coastal forest and while the accommodation provides the ultimate in luxury and modern amenities, you still get a true sense of being totally surrounded by nature. On arrival in reception I saw a duiker outside! It is ideal for people who enjoy golf but for those that don't you can spend your days lounging by the pool or on the beach. It is a true getaway in a beautiful part of the world (my home town!).

Located in a coastal forest reserve Zimbali, meaning 'valley of flowers' in Zulu, is a luxury hotel that allows guests to stay close to nature. Conservation areas within the estate allow the local wildlife to flourish and the shaded forest pathways and wooden viewing decks around the estate offer guests the best views. The Lodge is beautifully presented making an elegant setting for business or leisure. It's a great base for exploring more of what KwaZulu Natal has to offer.

Holiday to South Africa during February 2011

South Africa Review

We have been to South Africa before in February/March when it is the depths of winter in the UK. Envigorating to get away from our dismal weather and the South Africans we have met have always made us welcome. Where we have been, we have alway felt safe although we have clearly avoided the townships...
