The following is a set departure 8 night fly in itinerary beginning and ending at Johannesburg Airport. It includes a stay in the Kruger Park at either Rhino Post Safari Lodge or Plains Camp (both offer game drives and walking) followed by a 4 night stay in the sunny province of KwaZulu Natal. Here you have a choice of one or two accommodations, Thonga Beach Lodge and / or Kosi Forest Lodge. Thonga Beach Lodge is set on the pristine shores of the Maputuland coast, KwaZulu-Natal which is a magical place of coastal forests, grasslands, bush, shimmering lakes and exquisite sandy beaches. Day 1 - 4:
Spend 4 nights in the Kruger National Park at:

Day 9:
Light aircraft and road transfer to Johannesburg Airport for international flights

Day 1 - 4:

On Saturday / Wednesday morning guests will be met off their international flight at Johannesburg Airport and transferred by road to Benoni airfield (10km from OR Tambo). 3 Diamond Charter will fly guests from Benoni Airfield to Skukuza Airport - approximately 1hr20 flying time. At Skukuza airport they will be met by a guide from Rhino Walking Safaris who will transfer them in an open game viewing vehicle to Rhino Post Safari Lodge - approximately 25minutes drive in the Kruger National Park. Approximate time of departure from Benoni: 9am-12pm

Day 5 - 8:

Rhino Walking Safaris will transfer guests to Skukuza airport for the light aircraft transfer by 3 Diamond Charter to either Thonga Beach Lodge or Kosi Forest Lodge – flying time approximately 1hr15. Departure from Skukuza between 12h00 - 12h30

Day 9:

Light aircraft transfer: 3 Diamond Charter will fly guests from either Mazengwenya or Manguzi airstrip to Benoni Airfield - approximately 1hr45. Departing from airfield between 12h30 - 13h00. From Benoni Airfield guests will be transferred by road to Johannesburg Airport - approximately 15 minutes.

We have been to South Africa before in February/March when it is the depths of winter in the UK. Envigorating to get away from our dismal weather and the South Africans we have met have always made us welcome. Where we have been, we have alway felt safe although we have clearly avoided the townships...
