Elephant Plains Game Lodge, South Africa


Situated in the Sabi Sand Wildtuin, adjacent to the Kruger National Park, Elephant Plains Game Lodge offers comfortable style and affordable luxury. This family owned lodge accommodates a maximum of 24 guests, which ensures personal service and a warm, friendly atmosphere. The lodge is situated on the dry Manyeleti riverbed and overlooks a permanent waterhole. The pool deck guarantees an excellent view of a variety of animals, coming from the plains to drink.

Location

Access by air from either Hoesdspruit, Skukuzaa or the Kruger Mpumalanga Airports. All are in within close proximity by road and are serviced with daily scheduled flights to and from Johannesburg. Private chartered flights from Johannesburg can also fly into a gravel airstrip. Entry is through the Gowrie Gate in the northern section of the Sabi Sands Game Reserve. Drive times: From Johannesburg +-7 hour drive, from Kruger Mpumalanga Airport +- 2 ½ hour drive and from Hoedspruit Airport +- 1 ½ hour drive.

Elephant Plains Game Lodge offers 12 rooms including 1 honeymoon suite, 6 luxury suites and 5 standard rondavel rooms. The 5 rondavels have en-suite bathrooms, air conditioning, overhead fans, mini bars, tea/coffee facilities, mosquito nets and electronic safes. The 6 glass fronted luxury rooms all have air-conditioning, overhead fans, fireplaces, mini bars, tea/coffee facilities, mosquito nets and electronic safes. The honeymoon suite has all the regular luxuries and also boasts a private splash pool and sala.

South Africa Review

I loved it. I did not think it was so developed and so clean and there were no potholes on the roads. My conclusion is that I was very ignorant about the country. The level of developement I foundw as far superior to what I had anticipated and the quality of the food was excellent. In terms of crime...
