Sabi Sabi Little Bush Lodge, South Africa

Adam Chapman

This was my personal favourite of the Sabi Sabi Lodges probably because I always prefer to stay places which are more in tune with the bush and I felt this here. This would be an incredible lodge for families or for small groups, imagine having the whole place to yourselves! It is an intimate and peaceful setting and a perfect escape.

Sabi Sabi Little Bush Lodge is situated within South Africa's famous Sabi Sand Reserve, forming part of the Sabi Sabi Private Game Reserve. This award winning private game reserve offers world-class standards in luxury accommodation, exceptional close wildlife encounters, personal service and delicious cuisine. Nestling in the shade of indigenous riverine trees on the banks of the Msuthlu River Little Bush Camp is the newest addition to the Sabi Sabi collection of 5 star safari lodges. Little Bush Camp offers luxury accommodation for family, friends, or small groups.

Location

There are daily scheduled flights from O.R. Tambo (Johannesburg) International Airport directly to the Sabi Sabi Airstrip. You could also fly from Johannesburg / Cape Town or Durban into Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport (KMIA) (Nelspruit) with a short hop to the Sabi Sabi Airstrip. From here Sabi Sabi is a 2 hour scenic drive from Nelspruit. Private air charters and helicopter transfers are available on request. Sabi Sabi is about a 5 hour drive from Johannesburg.

Highlights

  • With no fences between the reserve and the Kruger Park, big game abounds, moving freely through this unspoiled part of the ancient African continent. The Reserve is blessed with a great biodiversity of habitat and wildlife giving an excellent chance of close encounters with the 'Big Five' - elephant, rhino, buffalo, lion and leopard - as well as wild dog and cheetah. With over 300 bird species, the reserve is a birdwatcher's delight.
  • There has been no hunting here for over half a century and the animals have become habituated to - and relaxed in the presence of - safari vehicles. The ultimate destination for a luxury safari; visitors to Sabi Sabi can look forward the unique experience of close encounters with animals as they continue unperturbed in their natural daily patterns of hunting, feeding, courting and suckling.
