Shibula Lodge


Shibula Lodge and Bush Spa, is a five star lodge in the Welgevonden Private Game Reserve in the Limpopo Province, South Africa. This malaria free rugged wilderness allows the big five (Lion, Rhino, Buffalo, Elephant and Leopard) to roam freely, and is home to an extraordinary diversity of plant and animal wildlife, as well as more than 350 species of birds. Guests are assured of a special game viewing experience, including some of the best Rhino sightings in Africa. Night game drives give the visitor an experience of South African nocturnal wildlife and hippo and cheetahs are also often seen close to the Lodge. The area surrounding the Lodge also has the largest concentration of leopard in the Reserve.

Location

A mere 3 hours self drive or arranged road transfers from Johannesburg International airport or 2.5 hours from Lanseria airport. Fly-in transfers can easily be arranged to the Western airstrip located 3 km from Shibula.

A Shibula game drive vehicle will pick up guests who arrive at either the main gate or Western airstrip and transport them to the Lodge.

Meal Basis

Full Board accommodation including all meals, snacks and drinks on game drives and twice daily game drives in an open safari vehicle.

Child Policy

  • Children above the age of 12 years pay full adult rate.
  • Children younger than 12 years old sharing with parents pay 50% of adult rate.
  • Children under the age of 12 years welcome on special arrangement. Terms and conditions apply.

Rooms Types

The Shibula Lodge offers 8 luxurious suites each decorated in their own individual style with special features. The room include:

Room 1 is a luxury unit with Jacuzzi, a queen size bed and can accommodate a maximum of 2 guests.

Room 2 is a luxury suite with 2 ¾ beds and can accommodate a maximum of 2 guests.

Room 3 is a luxury suite with 2 ¾ beds. The lounge area is equipped with a sleeper couch which is available for children 12 – 16 years.

Room 4 is a luxury unit with Jacuzzi, and like Room 1 has a queen size bed accommodating 2 guests.

Room 5 is an executive suite with a king size bed and an extra lounge area.

Rooms 6 and 7 are the royal suites accommodating a maximum of 6 guests – 4 adults and 2 children. Each bedroom has two Three Quarter beds. The lounge is spacious enough to add 2 additional single beds for children.

Room 8 is the Honeymoon Suite with a queen size bed. It has an extra lounge area where a single bed for a child can be placed on special request. (Maximum 3 guests).
