I visited Ebony Lodge during my stay at Boulder's Lodge. It has more of a 'colonial' feel than Boulder's. It shares the same excellence in service and accommodation common with all the Singita properties. You certainly get what you pay for! It is simply stunning.

Singita Ebony Lodge is situated next to its sister property Boulder's Lodge in the Sabi Sands Private Game Reserve in the Greater Kruger. Like the big cats the area is famed for, Ebony Lodge has a commanding presence. Its essence evokes a feeling of familiarity, as if you are visiting a congenial family home. In between game drives, lavish meals and other activities lies a great opportunity for rest and reflection. The secluded thatched suites are the epitome of elegant comfort, with cosy rooms styled with an eclectic mix of colours, fabrics and textures. From the vast wooden deck, with its pool overlooking the Sand River, it's not uncommon to see elephant, buffalo and antelope grazing only metres away at any time of day. Perhaps this is where the notion of an 'armchair safari' was perfected…

  • The Sabi-Sand Game Reserve borders the world-renowned Kruger National Park, but no fences intrude here - wildlife moves and migrates freely throughout the region, providing fantastic game-viewing opportunities from open, four-wheel drive vehicles. Singita offers wonderful opportunities for big five sightings; Elephant, Lion, Leopard, Buffalo and Rhinoceros. The Sabi Sand Reserve has a higher bio-mass of animals per hectare than the internationally renowned Kruger National Park, which borders the Sabi Sand Reserve. The reserve is on the migration routes of many prey species, and sightings of lion, leopard and even the elusive African Wild Dog are common.

Client Comments

It was absolutely brilliant!!! Definitely going back to explore more. It’s a very easy country to drive around. Having an ‘African themed party’ at the weekend to share our photographs and stories with our friends.
