Start your day on the manicured fairways of the challenging 18 Hole, Par 72 Championship golf course, where crocodile and hippo add spice to the normal 'hazards' of a good game of golf. Hans Merensky Estate is a 5 minute drive from Phalaborwa Airport and Phalaborwa Kruger Gate. 5 hour scenic drive from Johannesburg. SA Airlink operates 3 daily scheduled flights per day from JHB International Airport to Phalaborwa.

Highlights

  • Because the golf course borders in the east directly on the Kruger National Park, one can play golf while game viewing, providing an authentic African golf experience. Animals you could see include various antelopes, giraffe, elephant, buffalo, hippo and crocodile. Even lions have been sighted on the course. The game arrives usually early in the morning and late in the afternoon to drink at the waterholes. The 8th hole (par 3, 155 metres long) is particularly attractive. The green is guarded by a water obstacle, where crocodiles live.

Holiday to South Africa during September 2010

South Africa Review

I loved it. I did not think it was so developed and so clean and there were no potholes on the roads. My conclusion is that I was very ignorant about the country. The level of developement I foundw as far superior to what I had anticipated and the quality of the food was excellent. In terms of crime...
