Kwazulu Natal and Durban

The climate in KZN is described as a warm, sub-tropical climate. The summers are hot and humid with an average temperature of 28 degrees. It’s during this season where KZN experiences the majority of the annual rainfall. Winters are warm, clear and dry with an average temperature of 23 degrees. The winter sunshine averages around 7 hours a day, which is some of the highest in the country

Johannesburg and Pretoria

The climate in Johannesburg is dry and sunny all year round, although heavy evening thunderstorms can appear between the months of October and April, they often vanish as quickly as the appear. During the winter the day temperatures are only slightly cooler than in the summer, but it can get frosty on winter nights.

Kruger National Park / Panorama Route

Kruger National Park has a subtropical climate, in the summer the day are humid and hot with temperatures reaching a scorching 40 degrees plus! The rainy season begins in September and usually lasts until May. During the winter is dry season, this makes for a perfect time to visit the region as the days are milder and there is lees chance of contracting malaria.

Sun City and Pilanesberg Game Reserve / Madikwe Game Reserve

Sun City and Pilanesberg Game Reserve has a sub tropical climate all year round, In the summer months (September to April) the weather is superbly hot and dry with occasional rain. During the winter months (May to August) the days are only slightly cooler than in the summer but quite cold at night.

Cape Town and the Garden Route

Cape Town and the Garden Route is describe as having a Mediterranean climate, with fairly warm summers and mild, yet chilly winters. It also experiences the most rainfall in South Africa, which occurs during the winter months. The summer starts form November and ends in March, during which the days are quite hot with daily temperatures ranging anywhere from 24 – 30 degrees C. The temperature starts a mild decrease during the start of autumn, (April) but can remain quite present until the start of the winter months (June, July and August). The winter days are often bright and warm but quite cold in the evenings

South Africa Review

Only here 24 hours but the tour of Jo'burg was interesting and the Apartheid museum was definitely worth seeing.
