I loved River Manor. The garden and pool area with the spa overlooking them is so inviting. The rooms are tastefully and luxuriously decorated and the staff and owners are particularly friendly and accommodating. It is one of our favourites in the winelands as we continually get great feedback. The street on which the property is located is a stunning oak lined street, tucked away from the busier streets of Stellenbosch town but still within easy walking distance. We highly recommend River Manor for those wanting to be in the heart of Stellenbosch to take advance of what the town as to offer as well as the surrounding vineyards.

River Manor was such a delightful experience? Like Four Rosemead we only wished we could stay longer. Brilliant breakfast in beautiful surroundings. We loved the garden and the very good location to the centre of Stellenboch. Would highly recommend River Manor. Thank you for choosing it for us.

River Manor was outstanding. Justin and his staff were very attentive. They greeted us upon arrival at 11pm by name with a glass of champagne waiting. The accommodations were great. I definitely recommend Mahlatini continue booking room #5 for its guests as it is the only room with a private balcony.

Justin and his staff were very attentive. They even upgraded us for the second night to a bigger room (even thought the first one was fine!). The buildings were old colonial style which fit in perfectly with Stellenbosch's style. His recommendation of the Farmer's market on the Sat morning was superb. Just a shame that we could not spend longer in the area.

Great great place. Highlight was Justin and his team who bent over backwards in helping us plan our days away in Stellenbosch. Accommodation was very comfortable, central and felt so homely. Rooms a little on the small side, but no biggie. Would highly recommend to anyone.

I liked the location very much. (i think we should not have been dropped there so early in the day though. check-in wasn't until 2 or 3 pm and the ride from capetown was only about an hour at most so we couldn't check in when we arrived. i think most of your guests would prefer to sleep in a little bit more that day before being transferred to stellenbosch). The host certainly briefed us and told us about the town so we could easily get around on our own and the staff helped make our wine tour reservations and recommended places to eat. We would just like to have washcloths in the bathrooms! (probably an american thing!) I liked that 2 rooms together each had their own bathing pools but the fact that breakfast was altogether with everyone else. It was a very comfortable place.

the hotel is really nice and the breakfast is great. the only 'con' is that we got stolen about 300 dollars from the safety box (we don't know if that was in river manor or in the previous one in hermanus...our suspicion is that it happened in river manor but we can't tell for sure). so that leaves us mixed feelings about that hotel..but as said, we can't tell for sure that's why i'm still rating it as 'excellent'.

Big smile a big welcome and a bottle of chilled local White wine all in the first 10 mins. Room was massive, huge bed, roll top bath and lovely view from balcony. Staff were very helpful booking out wine tour with the best guy around (see trip advisor) william I think ?. Had dinner at the big easy and it was stunning.
