Spier Hotel

Sarah Fox, South Africa

Spier Hotel is the perfect hotel for those wanting to be based right in a working wine estate. Spier is so much more than just a hotel with plenty to keep you occupied on its grounds including wine tours and tasking, a cheetah sanctuary, a craft market and the famous Moyo African style restaurant. For these reasons Spier is particularly suited to families.

  • Sarah Fox

Spier Hotel is built on the Spier Wine Estate in Stellenbosch. The wine farm has sweeping views across the Helderberg Mountain Range and lies beside the calming waters of the Eerste River. The rooms of this luxury hotel are situated in village-style buildings grouped around six private courtyards, each with its own swimming pool in a design reminiscent of the Bo Kaap or Mediterranean villages where pedestrians have right of way.

Rolling lawns, gardens and walkways connect the rooms with the reception area, lounge, bar, terrace and restaurant. The décor features a sophisticated, vibrant style with strong colours, patterns and textures that echo nature’s designs, and a collection of art that explores contemporary South African culture.
