- Day 1 - 4:
On arrival into Dar es Salaam you will connect onto a light aircraft flight to the Selous Game Reserve. On arrival at the airstrip you will be met and transferred to Sand Rivers.
Set on a wide curve of the Rufiji River, Sand Rivers Selous has been a well-loved hub for safari buffs since the late 1980s when camp founder Richard Bonham first discovered this place on one of his famous portered walking safaris. The lodge is small - only 8 rooms - but beautifully formed, grand yet cozy, with open fronted stone and thatch cottages looking way out over the river.
The lodge is the base for some of Tanzania's best safari guides to take you out for daily adventures; boating on the Rufiji, weaving past hippopotamus and crocodile, driving on the trail of lion or wild dog; an elephant bush walk; a night sleeping out under the stars - or fishing in solitude, barefoot on a river rock.
- 4 x Overnights at Sand Rivers in a standard room (Fully Inclusive + Safari Activities)
- Day 5 - 10:
Today you will return to Dar es Salaam to connect with a flight to Pemba in Mozambique. Here you will catch a short charter flight to Vamizi Island.
Vamizi Island lies off the coast of northern Mozambique in the Quirimbas Archipelago. It remains one of the last pristine marine wilderness areas left in the Indian Ocean. On the island, eight kilometres of white beach lie between indigenous tropical forest, and turquoise waters.
Vamizi Island has 12 luxurious beach houses, two of which have double suites for families or friends. Each house looks onto its own private stretch of beach, and the ocean beyond. On the outside decks there are plenty of sunchairs and day-beds, perfect for an afternoon of lazy beach bliss. The interiors reflect the mix of Swahili Coast traders and explorers to the area over the centuries; old hand carved furniture and natural fabrics, comfortable and inviting.
Activities on offer include scuba diving, snorkelling, deep sea fishing, walking trails, beach picnics, dhow sailing, windsurfing, Hobie Cat sailing and kayaking,
