Plantation Lodge, Tanzania

It’s a little oasis after all the dusty driving. Lovely big gardens with tons of hibiscus and colourful plants. They have the 5th best selling coffee in the world! The rooms are more like villa’s and are allocated depending on party number and type so families would have the larger villas with more space. They have a very cool bar which has a glass floor and so you can see the wine cellar below. Its actually where someone got engaged the night before we were there, having a private dinner!. Very well maintained perfect for families and couples.

Plantation Lodge is a stone's throw from the entrance to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, a short hop from the Tarangire and Lake Manyara national parks, and just a short journey from the Serengeti. Like a green oasis, Plantation Lodge rests on the soft, red-brown hills amidst the vastness and silence of East Africa. Everywhere you look, you can see and even feel the personal atmosphere of this owner-run lodge with furnishings that were selected with great attention to detail.

Fresh variety is the motto of Plantation Lodge's kitchen. The lodge grows its own vegetables, salads, herbs and fruit. This means that the products from the kitchen are healthy, untreated and particularly tasty.

Whether you just want to laze around or you want to refresh yourself after a dusty game drive – the pool with its view of the picturesque hills is the ideal place for a break. You can relax luxuriously on one of the comfortable sunbeds. Read, swim, dream – time will just fly. And when the sun sinks blood red behind Mount Oldeani, this is the most romantic place for a sundowner.
