Day 1 & 2:
Met on arrival at the Kilimanjaro Airport and transferred by your private guide to Tarangire National Park. This lesser known but no less rewarding park offers wide panoramas of open acacia woodland and grass savannah, where huge herds of elephants (often two hundred strong) and other unique residents, such as lesser kudu, lion and leopard roam free. Other animals you can expect to see are wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, giraffe, eland and warthog and many more. The Tarangire is fabulous during the dry season (July – Oct) when large herds of game are attracted to the permanent waters of the Tarangire River.
Your time here will involve further game drives in your personal vehicle. You can either partake in full day drive with picnic lunch or break up morning and afternoon drives with a hot lunch at the lodge.
Day 3
This morning you will proceed with a picnic lunch to the famous Ngorongoro Crater. You will enjoy a half day Ngorongoro Crater tour and game viewing with picnic lunch. All the Big Five are present in the Crater, living a privileged existence on the crater floor, so placid you can move right among them. In the afternoon you will be transferred ro Ngorongoro Manor where you will spend the night.
Day 4 - 6
This morning you will have an early start. You will drive with a picnic lunch to Serengeti National Park via the Ngorongoro Conversation Area passing through the spectacular Malanja Depression towards Olduvai Gorge. Here you will visit the museum featuring the famous prehistoric remains found here by the famous Dr Leakey. You will then proceed to the Lobo Area of the Serengeti National Park, game viewing enroute, arriving at your camp in the late afternoon.
Two full days in Serengeti National Park with morning and afternoon game drives in your private safari vehicle.
Day 7 - 11
Today you will be transferred to the nearby airstrip for your light aircraft transfer to Pemba Island via Arusha (and possibly Zanzibar). On arrival you will be met and transferred by road to the lodge. You can do as little or as much as you like at Fundu Lagoon. You can go on diving or snorkelling trips to Mesali Island, sunset cruises on a dhow, canoe trips to see the mangroves, or even an aroma therapy massage treatment at the resort itself. If fishing is your thing, some of the best game fishing lies in the Pemba Channel.
Two full days in Serengeti National Park with morning and afternoon game drives in your private safari vehicle.
Day 12:
Today you will be transferred back to Pemba Airport for a flight to Zanzibar and onward departing connections.
