This camp is my epitomy of the ideal safari. I loved the rustic location and the intimate setting. There is nothing better to me than lying under canvas at night listening out for the sounds of the African bush and Oliver's provides exactly that. I would say that it isn't for everyone, the open air bucket showers and chemical toilets may put some off but for those that give it a go, the nights at Oliver's Camp would the highlight of any holiday.

Oliver's Camp is located in Tarangire National Park which is in northern Tanzania about 120km southwest of Arusha. Elephants in particular travel many miles to Tarangire National Park to meet at one of their oldest watering holes in the swamps of Silale. Oliver's Camp is situated in a remote area of the park, in the middle of Tarangire's unspoilt wilderness zone. Oliver's camp epitomizes classic bush camping experiences with its remote location and hospitable staff. With only 8 spacious tents and solid wooden furniture Oliver's Camp offers intimacy and exclusivity to its guests.

Location

Asilia's Oliver's Camp is a 45 minute drive from the Kuro Airstrip. Approximately 4 hour's drive from Arusha and 3 – 4 hours to the Crater.

Highlights

  • Walking safaris are the specialty of the camp, and especially on walking safaris, the depth of knowledge and experience of the camp naturalist guides makes the experience one to never forget.
  • Off-road driving makes wildlife drives more intense and interesting and allows you to get closer to the action.
  • Fly camping – a unique feature for the northern circuit of Tanzania. Fly camping is private lightweight camping under the Tarangire stars inside the National Park.

Only stayed in Zanzibar. Great atmosphere, very friendly people, beautiful scenery, idealic beaches. Couldn't praise it more.
