Location
Mbuzi Mawe Camp is located in North East of Serengeti, near Lobo, about 45 kms from Central Serengeti (Seronera). It is about 390kms (8-10 hours drive) from Arusha. It is a 60 minute flight from Arusha Airport to Seronera Airstrip and then a further 45kms (90 mins drive) from the Seronera Airstrip to Mbuzi Mawe. The camp is also 30 kms (1 hour drive) from the Lobo Airstrip.
Highlights
- Sipping a "sundowner" cocktail as the sun sinks below the horizon is central to the safari experience; and a scene that the staff at Mbuzi Mawe delight in setting.
- Enjoying drinks and canapés on the rocky terraces of the camp's own kopjes, out in the wilderness, or around the massive fire-pit where guests may foregather for pre-dinner chat and post-safari tales.
- Al fresco breakfasts, safari luncheons, lantern-lit bush suppers, campfire roasts, and cultural dancing displays by the Ikoma people, the original guardians of the Serengeti plains.
