Combining Tanzania & Zanzibar
Tanzania and Zanzibar are easily combined making them a perfect safari and beach option. Of course you can choose what location you start with. Whether you prefer to relax at the start of your trip and save the safari as the highlight at the end of your trip or have the excitement of safari to begin with then unwind afterwards both work just as well.
The easiest way to combine the two locations is to fly with Kenya Airways which services both destinations, via Nairobi. Alternatively there are a number of other airlines which fly into Nairobi and we can arrange connections from there.
Your time on safari can range from a minimum of around four days (if you just fly into the Serengeti, or take in the Selous) to much longer, but many people like to spend about seven days and combine a couple of parks in that time. We would recommend spending a minimum of five days in Zanzibar simply to allow you to relax and really take in the island.
The 'wet' season falls from March to June and November into December usually, however, this does not necessarily make it the worst time to travel. It can be much quieter to enjoy your safari and prices are lower. Chat to one of Mahlatini's experts regarding which time of year will best suit you.
