I really liked the style of this hotel. It is so distinctive in its decor and design. You really do feel like you are staying in an old merchant's house. It also looks out right onto the beach and the harbour area. A stay here will be a unique experience and I would recommend it.

The Tembo House Hotel is situated in the heart of Stone Town of Zanzibar at the picturesque seafront. It is a magnificent building. With the priceless Arab style carved door of the main entrance, the Tembo has an array of antique furniture and ornaments from all over the world. Sleep on a unique Swahili bed and enjoy wood carved furniture from India, Africa and different corners of the orient. Each room is en suite and most have balconies overlooking the swimming pool courtyard, with a perfect view of the beautiful sunsets.

Impala Camp was excellent. Super position overlooking the river, very relaxed, very accommodating. You had a choice of game drive, boat safari or walking and they had enough guides that you could always do what you wanted. It was great for fishing too.
