Kapinga Camp, Zambia

Gregory Fox

This is a small and intimate camp, decorated in bright colours, which adds to the cosy feel of the camp. From the camp there are amazing views over the Busanga floodplains, the perfect place to relax and watch the plains games.

Placed on the edge of a 'tree island' overlooking the Busanga Plains of Kafue National Park, Kapinga Camp offers a unique, isolated wilderness experience. Surrounded by open floodplains dotted with palm and fig tree-filled islands, wildlife and bird life is abundant and diverse. Kapinga Camp is designed to be in harmony with the environment; natural products have been used as much as possible in its construction. Interiors are spacious and with only four luxury safari tents accommodating a maximum of eight guests, one can be assured of exceptional personal attention. Tents and the main area are all shaded by a canopy of majestic trees and on raised wooden platforms to enhance the panoramic view across the plains. Lively colours and stripes characterise the main area, comprising a lounge, dining area, camp fire and small pool under a shady tree.

Stayed near Vic Falls for just 2 days so didn't stray much further. Swimming in the devils pool is definitely worth a go though!!
