Chongwe River House, Zambia


Chongwe River House is a four bedroom private house situated at the end of a massive winterthorn grove, on the banks of the peaceful Chongwe River, a tributary of the Zambezi. All activities on offer are exclusive to the guests staying at Chongwe River House, suitable for small groups or families. The accommodation also has a private chef and house manager at the guests' disposal ensuring that activities and meals are designed to suit each individual group's requirements. Chongwe River House is open from April to November.

Location

Chongwe River House is a 30 minute flight from Lusaka to Royal Airstrip in the Lower Zambezi followed by an 15 minute drive to camp.

  • The Chongwe area is famous for its huge male elephants feeding from the winterthorn grove in which the house is situated and this amazing game experience is enhanced by the fact the Chongwe River itself is the main water source for most of the game in the area. From the bedrooms, sitting room and deck you will have game in sight, feeding and watering.

Holiday to Zambia, South Africa and Botswana during October 2011

Zambia Review

Stayed near Vic Falls for just 2 days so didn't stray much further. Swimming in the devils pool is definitely worth a go though!!
