Island Bush Camp, Zambia


Island Bush Camp is an intimate, personalised camp which lies under a grove of Mahogany trees in a very game-rich area of the southern section of South Luangwa National Park. The Camp offers rustic accommodation in grass/reed huts built on stilts that ensure safety from wild animals and provide an unlimited view of the Luangwa River. The camp offers rustic comfort and each chalet has its own en-suite bathroom, with running water, flushing toilets and hot bucket showers. The camp is the base for the daily walking safaris. Island Bush Camp is seasonal and is open from 20 May to 1 November.

Island Bush Camp is 2 hours drive south of its sister camp Kafunta River Lodge.

Child Policy

The recommended age for children is 6 years or older. Kafunta caters for families with children under the age of 12 with their own game drive vehicles. Children under 12 years are not able to take part in walking safaris.

Accommodation

Island Bush Camp offer 5 Double chalets on stilts (10 beds) with magnificent views of the river from each chalet. The open-air bathrooms have running water, bucket showers and flushing toilets.
