Mwaleshi Camp, an enigmatic walking camp, accommodates 6 to 8 guests within the remote North Luangwa National Park. Situated on a scenic bend of the Mwaleshi River ten kilometres from the Luangwa confluence, this is a place of peace and simplicity, contrasted with stunning wildlife action. It enriches the soul and quickens the senses.

Location

Mwaleshi Camp is approximately 45 min flight from Mfuwe Airstrip to Mwaleshi Airstrip followed by a 15 min drive to camp.

  • The excitement of watching hyaenas hunting puku in front of camp, or observing huge herds of buffalo and the endemic Cookson's wildebeest on foot.

Activities

Walking safaris and limited access roads facilitate exploring further a field by vehicle. A day trip to the Mwaleshi Falls upstream of the camp can also be arranged.

Mwaleshi Camp has 4 en suite chalets made of local materials such as thatch, reeds and poles. Each bathroom is under the stars with a flush toilet and simple hot shower.

Holiday to Zambia, South Africa and Botswana during October 2011

Zambia Review

Stayed near Vic Falls for just 2 days so didn't stray much further. Swimming in the devils pool is definitely worth a go though!!
