Matemwe Lodge

Sarah Fox

Matemwe Lodge is pure class. The finishing touches are what make this a truly sophisticated retreat. Some of the other lodges on Zanzibar are a little too flashy for my personal taste but Matemwe was just perfect. The gardens in particular help to make this a very serene atmosphere. Everything about the lodge from the pool, to the restaurant to the beach will be enjoyed by all who visit it. I didn't get a chance to sample the famous waters off the coast but I have heard they are incredible. For a honeymoon or special occasion a stay at Matemwe is sure to impress. We always get excellent reports on this lodge.
