Naksel Boutique Hotel & Spa is a luxury retreat that blends the heritage of traditional Bhutanese architecture and the comfort of modern amenities to offer a peaceful escape in the hills around Paro. Naksel derives its name from the Dzongka translation of 'Forest,' which is only fitting for this Himalayan sanctuary. Built with local materials and employing staff from the surrounding area, Naksel is both eco-focused and a part of the local community.

Situated on six acres of forest land outside of the town of Paro, Naksel has been lovingly built to a high-standard by local craftsmen using sustainably sourced local materials. Ancient methods of building - elaborate hand-carved pillars, beautiful stonework, and tapered mud-brick walls – are twinned with modern necessities such as WIFI, and flat screen TV’s. Rooms at Naksel are spacious, with underfloor heating, bath tubs and outdoor seating areas with fantastic views across the valley and to Mt Jomolhari, Bhutan’s sacred peak. The huge Junior and Executive Suites would work well for a family group. The Olive restaurant serves Bhutanese, Indian and western inspired dishes which can also be eaten at the indoor fire place nearby. Chabchu bar serves beers, wines and spirits. The on-site Menchu spa offers a range of treatments using Himalayan herbs and draws its inspiration from the verdant countryside surrounding the property.
