Amankora Thimphu

Built within a pine forest, 16-suite Amankora Thimphu is designed in the style of a traditional dzong fortress. Conveniently located near Thimphu’s attractions, the lodge provides a secluded retreat, perfect for exploring both the city and the wild Himalayan landscape. The rooms are spacious, and in keeping with Aman properties elsewhere, simple and uncluttered, but with an understated luxury. No frills quality in a beautiful setting.

Amankora Thimphu provides space, peace and quiet. The suites are well-proportioned, with big comfy beds and high-quality linens. Bathtubs and bukhari wood-burners come as standard, and there is banquette seating beneath the large window if you want to stretch out with a book. A key feature of the property is the spa where each day starts with a 7am yoga class. There are a wide range of treatments available from facials and massages, to traditional hot stone baths and meditation sessions in the nearby forest. Dining is excellent, with a focus on healthy, locally sourced dishes.
