Sanctuary Baines' Camp is an exclusive lodge named after the famed 19th century explorer and artist Thomas Baines. The camp is located on the Boro River, in a private concession neighbouring the Moremi Game Reserve. This area is superb for viewing all animal and bird species.
The camp features 5 luxurious suites set on elevated platforms in the tree line with wooden decks that offer expansive views over the permanent water of the river and a lagoon teaming with hippos and other wildlife. Each room features en suite facilities, traditional safari ceiling fans and a four-poster bed which, should you wish, can be wheeled out onto the private wooden deck for a night under the stars. An additional luxury is the opulent star bath where you can take an indulgent soak on your viewing deck.
Connecting the rooms with the main areas are wooden walkways raised above the permanent water of the Boro River. The swimming pool and the wide wooden deck that surrounds the main dining and sitting room is the ideal place to relax while observing the varied wildlife present here.
The camp is accessible by air from Maun (+-15 minutes) and Kasane (+-1 hour 30 minutes). The camp is a 45 minute drive from the airstrip.
Game drives, mokoro (dug-out-canoe) excursions, motorboat trips and guided walks. The unique and educational elephant interaction is also available (additional cost).

Review of Sanctuary Baines' Camp
Baines is extra special and if you had a 10-rating I would have put that. We loved every single second of our stay at Baines. BB the Manager, the Chefs, the waiting staff, the housekeepers are all so pleasant. And ... what can I say about Max our guide. What a special person, he made our trip. He is so knowledgeable and so pleasant and we saw so much game…
Baines camp is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. We were truly spoilt with very personal service and treats. Nothing seems to much for the amazing staff at Baines. To repeat the words of the song sung for us by the staff around the camp fire: "we will never forget beautiful Africa" and we will never forget beautiful Baines camp!
