Jack's Camp is located deep in the Kalahari Desert on the edge of the Makgadikgadi Pans, a huge expanse of salt pans. Reopening May 2020 with a gorgeous refurbishment, 10 green roomy and stylish canvas tents have been fashioned in classical style and are set into a palm grove creating an oasis of civilization in what can be the harshest of stark environments. Guests can spend time in the tea tent, relax in the pool pavilion or watch the sunset in the drinks tent. A safari to Jack's Camp is a complete desert experience focusing on species unique to the area such as aardvark, gemsbuck and springbuck. It is the only place where guests are virtually guaranteed to see the rare and elusive brown hyaena and be able to walk through the Kalahari with a gang of habituated but, wild meerkats!
The wet season transforms the landscape. Clouds of flamingo and other migratory birds descend from the heavens to decorate the watery grasslands. Drawn by the lush grass, herds of zebra and wildebeest materialise and the desert is teeming with game and predators. Jack's Camp offers 10 x canvas tents with en-suite bathrooms and indoor and outdoor showers.
The lodge is approximately a 50 minute flight from Maun and approximately 1 hours 30 minute flight from Kasane.
Day and night game drives, game walks with Bushmen trackers, bird walks and quad biking on the salt pans (depending on the amount of recent rainfall).

Review of Jack's Camp
Exceptional and exclusive experience. I thought I had seen it and experienced all that Safaris could offer; Jack's Camp was truly and positively unusual. Wild animals, bushman Cobra, Villa de ranger, the tented accommodation, food and so on - what quality and uniqueness!!! Congratulation to the guys at Jack's Camp. Thank you for a lovely time.
Most incredible place on earth. No trip to Botswana should miss this camp. Went in the winter season so not so much animal viewing but the culture, history and geology of the place more than made up for it. Kids loved quad biking across the salt pans- and lying out under the stars in total nighttime silence. It's not called 'The Big Nothing' without reason! Having habituated meerkats climb over…
